Main Responsibilities of the role

Truphone is building a Customer Success team to handle its emerging and rapidly growing eSIM and IoT product portfolio and customer base. This team is accountable for ensuring these customers have an excellent experience with Truphone from the contract signature to in-life operations. The team operates autonomously and its members are obsessed with automation. While we develop solutions and tools, we also work with our partners and internal stakeholders to onboard and support our customers throughout their lifecycle taking the opportunity to transform those methods in system based processes whenever possible. We end up building and managing close relationships with some of the largest device manufacturers and network operators in the world. We want to help the customer to achieve more with Truphone!

We are looking for a Technical Leader to join the Truphone Customer Success Team in Portugal. One of the key priorities of the role is to support the growth strategy of IoT and Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) markets. The tech lead is the person who we trust and to whom we delegate the quality of the Customer Success Team's engineering deliverables. The Tech Lead establishes a technical vision with our principal engineers as well as with other engineering teams. The Tech Lead procures strategic technological alignment and is obsessed in turning ambition into reality. A Tech Lead works in partnership with our customers, advising them how to use our solutions in order to meet their business objectives or overcome problems. He translates the customer needs into new technical requirements to be implemented by the team.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering leadership, technological strategy and technical decision making.

  • Iterates with the customer and other stakeholders to determine the technical requirements;
  • Work with customers and the Project Managers to define the scope of a project;
  • Designs the solution, identifies the effort and the resources needed;
  • Liaises with staff at multiple levels of a customer organization;
  • With the team, develops agreed solutions and requirements;
  • Present solutions in documents and workshops;
  • Lead a team of engineers from a technical perspective while maintaining a hands-on role with code development;
  • Use top technologies and different programming languages to create new and exciting products;
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of production apps;
  • Collaborate with the product team regarding strategy, scope, and schedule;
  • Mentoring the junior team members and help the to grow;
  • Promotes the Truphone brand internally and externally.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Extensite previous experience as a senior developer in delivery and operational scopes;
  • Strong experience with Java or other relevant Object-Oriented development language;
  • Strong experience working and troubleshoot with REST, SOAP, XML APIs to integrate data and business processes:
  • Solid knowledge of networking principles & protocols, including security;
  • Experience in Telecom IT and/or Engineering (IoT, Online Charging, Packet Core elements and architecture);
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization;
  • Logical reasoning and critical thinking towards problem solving;
  • Have the ability to learn quickly;
  • Strong and confident technical decision making;
  • Ability to work in complex environments (multi-cultural/multi-country/geographically distributed teams);
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a sense of responsibility and accountability for decisions taken;
  • Advanced in English, both written and oral;
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies is a plus.
