Purpose of the Role

As part of the exciting Strategic Partnerships business unit working in ground-breaking technologies, the IoT Technical Account Manager (TAM) supports the Business Development and PreSales teams with technical expertise and project management responsibility at the initial stage of a sales cycle. Liaising with the Technology, Product, Operations and Wholesale teams, the TAM is responsible for leading key technical activities, for leading the delivery of small IoT projects (e.g., demos and PoCs) and for the ongoing technical management of potential and existing IoT strategic partners (e.g., supporting customer troubleshooting).

The successful candidate must have some experience and feel comfortable leading complex projects and dealing with different types of stakeholders of an organisation. The TAM must have a technical background with good knowledge of the telecom sectors. In addition, the TAM must be extremely customer oriented, be self-starter and possess excellent customer facing and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Truphone IoT Connectivity Service/Product and eSIM Technology Subject Matter Expert
  • Lead the delivery of IoT/eSIM Proof of Concepts (PoC) and Demos to customers
  • Develop key demos and present them at industry events
  • Assist customers troubleshooting Service and Product issues
  • Assist testing and certification of IoT devices from customers
  • Manage internal stakeholders, priotise and unblock tasks affecting customer activities
  • Maintain a relationship with technical customer counterparts
  • Understand customer needs and translate them to new or improved services, products and processes
  • Create technical collateral, such as datasheets, whitepapers, walkthroughs and guides, to assist sales process
  • Help in the design of new, bespoke or customized services and products

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of mobile Telecommunications industry experience: GSM/3G/LTE, IoT and/or eSIM
  • Comfortable dealing with Telecom, IT and Web technologies
  • Excellent communicator
  • Ability to balance and resolve conflicts

  • Project Management
  • Able to work independently
  • Customer relationship management knowledge
  • Proven and effective collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical, reasoning and organisational skills
  • Ability to set/manage customer expectations and deliver within SLAs
  • BSc degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or other relevant field
  • Fluent in English. Any additional European languages a bonus
  • Available to travel: 15 to 20%
