Role Brief

The Insight Engineer is to be integrated in the TechOps NSS team, with responsibilities over the NSS services, platforms and networks reporting portfolio, allowing the organization to have access and gain insights on their performance and capacity indicators.

The Insight Engineer must aim to provide meaningful reporting and analytics, augmenting visibility and help the teams keep high levels of service availability and customer satisfaction, driving continuous improvements based on data. This is a technical role with significant exposure that requires a transversal domain knowledge of Truphone's core network, mobile services signaling protocols, call flows and significant experience on data models, data lakes and warehouses, reporting and visualization tools, data quality and security, along with several other aspects of data management and governance.

Key Accountabilities

Manage and deliver Data reporting and insights across the technology domain, with a particular focus on mobility services (NSS/Roaming):

  • Design, build and manage Truphone's network and services' reporting portfolio;
  • Work within the NSS domain to collect information/insight requirements and highlight suitable data sources and needed enrichments and aggregations;
  • Work closely with the Data services team (data platform owners) to adequately prioritize and streamline data source ETL requirements as they populate the data lake, acting as the champion of the domain's data;
  • Collaborate with NSS teams and Data Services to design and maintain the relevant indicators for the platforms and services, ensuring their availability and quality, and providing relevant insights to help achieving the desired levels of service quality and performance;
  • Design and deliver performance and capacity reports, customized dashboards and monitoring triggers (SWAT configuration) inside the domain;
  • Perform service assessments to determine service impacts (outages, degradations, etc.), study load and traffic patterns in order to derive analytics, predict future behaviours and establish the most suitable thresholds for event generation (actionable insights);
  • Provide support to report and dashboard's consumers, troubleshooting any issues emerging from the underlying data sources;
  • Generate useful business insight from the data lake, using not only visualization tools to build reports and dashboards that address existing business needs, but also other tools to explore the data lake at large and uncover new insights.
  • Drive the adoption of the most suitable data visualization tools, as deemed adequate and relevant to address the specific needs within the domain, advocating continuous improvement and data-driven decision making.
