Main purpose of the role

The Finance Analyst - Gross Margin will support the FP&A manager in delivering the required business outcomes in terms of financial planning including but not limited to support of the annual planning cycle and quarterly updates, transformation of the tools and methods used as well supporting on driving business outcomes to plan.  The Finance Analyst will also take responsibility for specific responsibilities including management of the SIP and acting as business partner for wholesale costs which is the largest variable cost in Truphone.  The Finance Analyst will also play an important role in monitoring and reporting against the performance of the business and in the continuous improvement of processes and controls to ensure accurate and timely management reporting.

Key responsibilities
  • Compile weekly trading, WD9 management information pack and Board pack on a timely basis.
  • Refresh weekly trading and board packs, and ensure consistent KPIs for revenue, sales, lead generation and activations across all reporting and forecasting.
  • Management of SIP calculation and pay-out process.
  • Finance Business partner to Wholesale: analysis of wholesale traffic in conjunction with the Wholesale team or in the review of costs to support negotiations.
  • Support on the development of new reporting capabilities for IoT which may include mirror weekly trading information.
  • Support the FP&A manager in timely consolidation of budget and forecasts models and preparation of budget or forecasts presentations.
  • Participate in process redesign or automation of activities across FP&A and subsequent reviews to ensure processes are working efficiently and properly documented.
  • Work with departments to understand financial performance, implement appropriate scrutiny of material variances including remediation where necessary.

Skills and expereince required

  • Newly qualified or finalist accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Strong Excel skills and knowledge of accounting and BI systems (Netsuite, SAP BPC, Salesforce)
  • A collaborative approach with strong influencing skills
  • Ability to build financial models using large data sets and advanced statistical methods
  • Inquisitive and always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes
