Today, Truphone announces that its entitlement server solution for mobile operators is now a cloud-native solution built on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Truphone Entitlements is a strategic capability which allows operators to enable new products such as Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch or network features such as VoWiFi, on their subscribers’ devices. The entitlements server enables operators to inform devices of which services are available to use on their network and determine which subscribers can access these services.
Traditionally, enabling an entitlements server requires significant integration between the operating system and the network operator. It’s also expensive for the network operator to deploy a fully redundant, multi-site in-network solution.
Truphone Entitlements does all this for the customer on AWS. Sitting between the device and the operator network, it manages this complexity and maintains parity with changes to entitlement specifications from OEMs.
Truphone’s solution reduces implementation friction and cost by providing an out-of-the-box service, and its hosted service is always up to date with the latest Apple and Android entitlement APIs and features.
By choosing a cloud-based entitlements server, operators have no need for dedicated hardware and can save costs on deployment and operating expenses, leveraging a pay-as-you-go model. Operators can benefit from a secure containerised environment that has been ringfenced for security. The platform is highly available, fully redundant, and automatically scales with changes in load.
