Making a call

The Tru App for Desktop offers great call rates to mobiles and landlines anywhere in the world. Exactly the same call charges apply from wherever in the world, you connect to, and use Tru. For full tariff details please see our low rates

To make a Tru Call...

1. Open the keypad screen by pressing the phone  icon from the menu bar.

2. Click Country Codes to choose the country code for the number you wish to dial. 

Tip! International numbers begin with ‘+’ followed by the country code. For example, to call a UK mobile dial: ‘+447XXXXXXXXX’.

3. Type the number you wish to dial by using your computer’s keyboard or clicking the numbers on screen. 

When you have entered the number just press…

4. During a call you will have access to the following in call features:

  Mute: Mute your voice.

  Keypad: Displays the keypad.

 To end the call just press 

To send a text just press 

Don't forget to link a phone number to your account!

Link a number to your account to update your Tru caller ID (CLI).

This means that when you make calls, it will appear that you are using your normal phone. If you choose not to link a mobile/cellular number your CLI will simply be withheld (unless you purchase a Tru Number). Linking a number also allows you to send text messages.  

1. Click on  and choose Visit My Account to be redirected to the My Account section of our website

2. Scroll down to My numbers and click Edit

3. Choose Add New Number
