I see an "Access Permissions" error

If you see this error during installation it is likely that your BlackBerry may be restricted from installing 3rd party applications. If your BlackBerry has been provided by your employer you will need to contact your IT Manager.

If you see this error after installation please check that your permissions are configured correctly...

1. Navigate to Menu > Options > Advanced Options
2. Choose Applications and highlight 'Truphone' in the list
3. Press the BlackBerry Menu button 
4. Choose Edit permissions
5. Change all permissions to Allow
6. When complete choose Menu > Save

I've installed the application but it will not open

Please check that your access permissions are configured correctly...

I am not prompted to make a Tru call

When making an international call, a pop up box will appear asking if you would like to make a Truphone call or GSM call. If you do not see this message please ensure your options have been correctly configured...

1. Open the Tru Application (Menu>Downloads)
2. Please ensure 'Truphone is', is set to 'On'
3. Please ensure 'Use Truphone for:' is set to 'Int'l calls'
4. Finally please ensure that 'Ask me' is set to 'Always'

You will also need to be in a supported country to make a Tru Anywhere call. Additionally you must be in, and your SIM must match, your 'Home country' (the country you chose when creating the account).

I see a message "Call Set Up Failed"

This message indicates that your Tru Anywhere call has failed. This may be displayed if...

1. You have no phone number linked to your Tru account
2. You have no GSM operator coverage
3. You are using Tru abroad or in an unsupported country

Note: Tru Anywhere should only be used when you are in your home country. The service is available for residents of the following supported countries.

I am not able to make Tru calls, I hear a ‘152’ error

This error messages indicates that your Tru Anywhere call setup has failed, usually due to a failed account authentication. To resolve; please ensure you have good mobile reception and try to place the Tru call again.

I am not able to make Tru calls, I hear a ‘171/172’ error

These error messages indicate that your Tru Anywhere call setup has failed, usually due to a connectivity problem or failed account authentication.

To resolve; please ensure the SIM in your phone matches the current number associated with your Tru account. Also check that you are not withholding your caller ID (CLI). Finally please check that you have good mobile/cellular signal and are able to browse the internet.

Credit - My Tru credit is not displayed

Please firstly ensure that you have an internet connection. The best way to check this is to open your BlackBerry browser and load a web-page. If you can confirm that you have a good connection please try repairing your account settings...

1. Open the Tru Application
2. Press the Blackberry menu button 
3. Select 'Repair Account'

Can I use the Tru App on an Enterprise Platform?

If your BlackBerry is owned and/or managed corporately, your internet and email data will likely be managed by a BlackBerry Enterprise server. Depending on exactly how the BlackBerry Enterprise server has been configured, some restrictions may be in place. 

To install, configure settings and setup calls the Tru App will utilise any data connection that is available. Connection can be made via Wi-Fi, BIS or BES. If you do experience a problem using the Tru App on an Enterprise Platform please contact your IT manager.
