How to set up data on your Android device for your Tru SIM
To use Tru data on an Android OS device you will need to set up a data connection. This can be done in one of two ways:
OPTION 1 (recommended): Download the Tru APN Android app via the Android Market
Please note, the Tru APN Android app is currently not compatible with Android V4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
You can download this free app either from the Android Market or from this website. We recommend this option so that you will not need to manually re-enter your data settings each time you arrive in a new country.
To download the app, follow these steps:
STEP 1: Connect to Wi-Fi
STEP 2: Go to the Android Market on your device
STEP 3: Search for the 'Tru APN' app, then download
STEP 4: Find this app in your apps folder, open it and press the Install button (see screen below)

You should now be set up, and ready to use data. You only need to do this once, and only again if an update is issued. You will need to go through the process again if you restore factory settings on your device.
OPTION 2: Enter APN (data) settings manually
If you can't connect to Wi-Fi, or prefer to configure your data settings manually, please follow these steps.
STEP 1: From the Home screen, press 'Menu' and go to the Settings area on your device
STEP 2: Go to 'Wireless & networks', then 'Mobile networks', then 'Access Point Names', which will take you to the APN screen
STEP 3: Within this screen (which you can see below), you may already have other APNs, or the screen may be blank. Press Menu and select 'Add new APN'

STEP 4: Enter 'Tru' into the Name field, and 'truphone.com' into the APN fields. All other fields should be left blank. Save and go back to the APN screen

STEP 5: Your new APN should now be active, with the green button next to it indicating this. You should now be ready to start using data on Tru.
