Steve Robertson

Chief Executive Officer

Prior to joining Truphone, Steve served as CEO of Openreach from its inception until 2011 -  helping to revolutionise the UK broadband market. Before taking up this post, he served as Managing Director of BT Wholesale Operations, responsible for the overall performance and operation of BT's UK mainland network, and Managing Director of Colt S.A. across Europe. Steve's education includes an MA from Edinburgh University and an MSc from the London School of Economics, he navigates rally cars, is happily married and lives in London.

James Tagg

Chief Technology Officer

James is Truphone’s co-founder and Chief Technology Officer. Both an inventor and an entrepreneur, James has over 20 years' experience bringing new mobile telephony and other technologies to market. Back in 1989 James founded Moonstone Technology to develop the very first touchscreen technology, before selling the company to MicroTouch Systems Ltd (now 3M). Between then and founding Truphone in 2006, James has held the positions of MD of FastMobile Europe and Chief Technology Officer of internet consultancy Zepher. James has an engineering degree from Manchester University and a postgraduate qualification in production methods and management from Cambridge University. He also holds multiple patents in both mobile and touchscreen technologies.

Elliot Cox

Marketing and Commercial Director

Elliot Joined Truphone in 2007 having served in a range of commercial and strategic roles covering over a decade on the innovative side of mobile telecoms including five years with Virgin Mobile UK and strategic project with BT Retail. Elliot is tasked with running the commercial portion of the Tru organisation, which includes defining the overall proposition, products, pricing, marketing and strategic partnerships.

Elliot is CIMA qualified and graduate with distinction from Imperial Business School MBA programme and has presented research findings on discontinuous innovation at the Advanced Institute of Management Research (AIM), Munich.

Colin Windsor

Chief Operating Officer

Colin is a veteran of major business and IT transformation projects, he was the founding CIO of Openreach, responsible for the multi-billion pound implementation of the technology that underpins all UK fixed line telecoms operators. Colin is responsible for the technical side of the tru organisation, driving and coordinating activity across the systems and services estate to deliver high quality performance to our customers.

Prior to joining Truphone, Colin served as a partner within PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (PwC), spent two years driving organisational change and data driven performance at Ribbit Inc. in Silicon Valley, and led the technical organisation at Openreach UK Broadband.

Tim Raby

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Truphone Americas

Tim has over 25 years significant leadership experience across the Mobile, Telecommunications, IT and Internet Solutions industry. Before his current role with Tru Obsidian he was the CEO of the Wholesale Applications Community. Prior to this, Tim was CEO of OMTP where he was responsible for a number of key industry initiatives such as gaining agreement of Micro USB for device connectivity.

Tim has also held the role of Head of Devices for O2 Group where he owned all Terminal technology, testing and portfolio activity during the European 3G launch period. Tim came to O2 via BT Internet and Genie which he joined in early 2000. During this period he played a key role in many different parts of the evolving mobile data value chain; including Business Development in Genie Europe, developing Unified Messaging, pioneering Java Games and launching O2 Active in five countries.

Gregory Mappledoram

General Counsel & Company Secretary

Greg provides legal counsel in relation to Truphone’s MVNO commercial negotiations as well as all matters of employment, corporate and commercial law. Greg joined Truphone in 2009 following 12 years in various legal positions across communications organisations ranging from BT Plc to Intec Plc. He is responsible for dealing with all aspects of the Group’s corporate governance from an English law and global perspective.

Greg is a specialist in corporate and commercial transactions in the IT/Telecommunications sector, employment law and data protection on a global basis – with an LL.M, International & Comparative Business Law from the Guildhall University, a Notary Public from Cambridge University, and is a bachelor at law following his degree from KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

Harminder Sehmi

Finance Director

Harminder is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in the telco & digital media space and a track record in providing profitable business solutions in blue-chip companies, including internationally & in start-ups. His experience spans all aspects of finance decision support, business planning, ERP systems, process re-engineering, business simplification, cost reductions & turnarounds.

Harminder joined Truphone in September 2009 from Yahoo Europe, where he served as senior finance director, following 16 years in various positions of increasing seniority around the Vodafone Group globally.

Corina Holmes

Director of Human Resources

Corina is a senior and experienced HR professional with 25 years experience, the last 15 of which have been in the international arena. Corina has strong functional experience in Organisational and Executive Development. In depth experience of fast changing organisations, notably start up companies, joint ventures and M&A.

Strategic in outlook, with a strong commercial focus, nevertheless a pragmatist, who recognises the importance of both being able to set direction and lead from the front, whilst being one of the team and delivering the results. In addition to working across more than 50 countries, Corina also spent 8 years living and working in the USA with MCI Concert, AT&T and BT.
