Step 1: Installation

We've made installing Truphone as easy as possible. Before you start just make sure you have a supported phone and a WiFi or 3G internet connection.

To install Truphone:

  • Enter your phone number in the Install Truphone panel on this site then click GO. You will then receive an SMS (text message) with a link to install Truphone.
  • Open the SMS and click the link to begin the installation process.
  • There are a number of steps to this process, all of which are very easy to follow. Clicking Yes, OK or Continue after each step will automatically take you to the next stage (once you've read all the terms and conditions of course!).
  • After successful installation, the Truphone application will automatically load.
  • We'll send your account details including login and password in a separate SMS.

Top tips:

We recommend setting the internet connection options on your phone to 'Always Ask'. This means that, rather than defaulting to your network operator's 3G web service, you can choose whether to use a WiFi network instead each time you connect to the internet on your phone.

To do this go to Menu>Web>Options>Settings>Access Point and select Always Ask.

Advanced Options

You can also get Truphone via SMS by texting TRU to +44 7978 88 11 11. North American based users can text TRU to (202) 683-8200. You can also download it directly and transfer it manually to your phone.
