  The Truphone iPhone application offers great international call and SMS rates to mobiles and landlines anywhere in the world. You can also keep you in touch with your friends by logging into popular instant messaging services, and even call other Truphone users for FREE.

  The Truphone application harnesses your iPhone's Wi-Fi or 3G connection to make voice calls over the Internet.

  Truphone is available for iPhone's running iOS4 (iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4).

  The Truphone app for iPhone routes your calls over the internet, so that you can save money on international calls (and SMS) from your home country and abroad

   

• How easy is it to install Truphone?

  

   
  

  Very easy!

  In fact you can download Truphone directly on your iPhone. Simply open the App Store and search for 'Truphone'. Truphone is available for iPhone's running iOS4 (iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4G)

   

• How can I connect to Truphone?

  

   
  

  The Truphone application harnesses your iPhone's Wi-Fi or 3G connection.

  Simply open the Truphone application; and a connection to Truphone will be established automatically.

  You may also choose use Truphone where you don't have access to WiFi or 3G. This service is called Truphone Anywhere.

   

• Who can I call?

  

   
  

  You can call any phone in the world. It's just like any other mobile call - only much cheaper!

  You can also call online TruFriends, Skype and GoogleTalk contacts for FREE

  You pay for calls to other cell/mobile phones and landlines. But because we use the internet to route your calls our rates are really, really low - especially for calling internationally, or when you're abroad.

  You can now also use Truphone to send SMS messages to/from anywhere in the world!

  SMS messages to your TruFriends are FREE (when they are online - connected to Wi-Fi or 3G).

  You can send SMS messages to anyone else at our low international rates. Exactly the same SMS charges apply from wherever in the world, you connect to, and use Truphone.

  Yes, you can receive inbound calls from your 'TruFriends' (other Truphone users).

  Receiving Truphone calls is FREE. Simply ensure that you are connected to Truphone (via Wi-Fi or 3G), and that you keep the Truphone application open

   

• What other IM services can I sign into with Truphone?

  

   
  

  You can also sign into other popular IM services, and chat for FREE!

  Chat to your friends on Skype / GoogleTalk / Windows Live Messenger / AOL Instant Messenger / Facebook / Twitter

   

• Can I use Truphone when I'm out and about?

  

   
  

  You can use Truphone wherever you have access to Wi-Fi or 3G.

  In addition you can use our Truphone Anywhere feature; anywhere you have a GSM mobile/cellular signal.

   

• What is Truphone Anywhere; how does it work?

  

   
  

  Truphone Anywhere allows you to make Truphone calls, wherever you have standard GSM mobile/cellular phone coverage. This means you can use Truphone for all of your calls, and not just when you have a Wi-Fi/3G connection.

  You just pay your GSM mobile/cellular operator for a local call (in-country landline), and Truphone's standard low international call rates!

  Note: Truphone Anywhere is only active when you are in your home country. The service currently supports the following locations: list

   

• Do I have to change my number?

  

   
  

  No, you keep your existing phone number.

  You can also choose to link your existing number to Truphone. This will be used as your CLI (caller ID), when you make Truphone calls or send SMS messages.

   

• Can I use Truphone to call emergency numbers?

  

   
  

  Truphone is not a replacement for your ordinary telephone service and you cannot make emergency calls using Truphone. However, this does not prevent you using your mobile phone for making emergency calls via your mobile operator as normal.

  If you dial the emergency services, then the call will go via your normal operator.

   

• Do I need to sign a lengthy contract to use Truphone?

  

   
  

  With Truphone there are no lengthy contracts, no monthly bills and no installation charges.

  It is important to understand that Truphone works alongside your GSM mobile/cellular phone service and does not replace it. We use the internet (the most powerful network in the world!) to route your calls using VoIP. Then we pass these savings on to you in the form of cheap calls/SMS.

   

• How do I add credit to my account?

  

   
  

  Truphone credit allows you to make low cost international calls (or SMS) to landlines/mobiles. There are several ways to top-up your Truphone account...

  1. Mobile Web Top-up (from the application)
  Simply select the 'Top up' button from the Keypad tab.

  2. Web Top-up
  You can also add credit using your PC/Mac.
  Enter www.truphone.com/topup into your web browser to begin.

  3. By Phone
  Simply dial 1500 or 1501 when connected to Truphone.

  Topping up can be done by credit/debit card, or by PayPal. If using a debit/credit card, you can also set up an auto top-up so that your balance is topped up automatically when it drops below a preset level!

   

• What is Auto-Top Up and how do I set one up?

  

   
  

  "Auto Top-up" is a feature which provides greater flexibility with managing your Truphone credit!

  As soon as your balance falls below your selected amount (lower balance limit) we will automatically top up your account with a predefined amount of Truphone credit using your selected card.

  Please note that you can cancel your auto top-up at any time via the "Cancel auto top-up" link or via the telephone top-up service.
